Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly will set up a help desk on its premises for migrant workers, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro said on Tuesday.
“It has been decided that the MLAs will provide information about the migrant workers from their respective constituencies, who are stranded in other states due to the lockdown. On the basis of this information, the state government will take necessary steps for the rehabilitation of these workers,” Patro said after a video conferencing with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
On lockdown guidelines, he said spitting, chewing betel and smoking on the Assembly premises have been prohibited.
The Speaker also said that any Assembly employee found drunk on duty will be dismissed from service.
