Khurda: To check incidents of women being harassed in public, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Balugaon in Odisha’s Khurda district, Manas Ranjan Barik, has issued phone numbers on which people can lodge a complaint about such cases.
Barik has asked the people of Balugaon to lodge an FIR against such harassment. “Any ‘road romeo’ harassing you in Balugaon Sub Division? Simply lodge FIR,” he wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
He mentioned the numbers of Inspector-In-Charge (IICs) of four police stations: IIC Balugaon- 7008323807, IIC Banapur- 8637225059, IIC Tangi – 7978197695, and IIC Nirakarpur- 8763965705.
The SDPO further said that in case the IICs of police stations are not able to respond, they can directly contact him at 9078934934.
People have welcomed this initiative by Balugaon SDPO to make police accessible and people-friendly.
