Bhubaneswar: The BJD on Thursday said that the 12-hour Odisha bandh call given by Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan is unfortunate.
In a statement to the media here, Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera said apart from the farmers’ body, the decision of the opposition BJP and the Congress to support the bandh is also grossly unfortunate.
“The Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan has given the bandh call without caring for the preparedness of the state government for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, which will begin from tomorrow,” he added.
The minister also said that the protesters have staged road blockade and disrupted vehicular traffic by burning tyres on the road. These incidents have added to the mental woes of the examinees. Besides, the bandh has also made the plight of the common man miserable,” he pointed out.
