Cuttack: Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL) launched an initiative to spread awareness among people by distributing masks free of cost here on Monday.
Endorsing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s call for 14-day ‘Mask Abhiyan’ to curb the spread of COVID-19, OSL chairman Mahimananda Mishra gave away masks to common men and women.
The aim of the Odisha-based corporate house is to distribute 1 lakh masks to poor and needy people during the fortnight-long drive of the state government.
OSL Group will also organize a two-day corporate vaccination programme where 260 members of its staff will be inoculated. The Group recently conducted RT-PCR test of 217 of its staff.
Chairman Mishra said OSL Group is fully committed to the cause of the state and extending its support to the chief minister’s ‘Mask Abhiyan’.
“We started this drive today in Cuttack and will distribute masks in other parts of OSL operation areas across the India. We are appealing to all the corporates to come out and extend their support in this period of crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mishra.
