Jagatsinghpur: The blood and swab samples of 38 persons in Jagatsinghpur district have tested negative for COVID-19.
Jagatsingpur Collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra said this on Sunday.
Mohapatra informed that 194 people in the district had registered their names in the government portal after coming back from neighbouring states and remained in home quarantine for 14 days.
Of them, the quarantine period of 164 persons has already ended and that for the other 30 will end by Monday.
The collector stated that those in home quarantine have shown no symptoms of coronavirus. The sample tests of 35 persons, including a foreign returnee, were found negative. Besides, the samples of two other persons who had returned from the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin have also tested negative.
Mohapatra also appealed to people not to believe rumours about coronavirus on social media. He also advised them to strictly abide by the health guidelines issued by the state government as a safety measure to protect them and their families from the deadly virus.
