Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday unearthed two buildings, a flat in Bhubaneswar, 3 plots and Rs 6 lakh in cash during raids in connection with alleged disproportionate assets accumulated by Block Development officer (BDO), Athagarh, Pradeep Kumar Sahu.
According to a Vigilance release, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by teams led by 6 DSPs, 6 inspectors, 10 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, at 8 places in Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Nayagarh, and Athagarh (Cuttack).
Assets detected in the name of Sahu and his family members during the raids are as follows:
1) Single-storey building over plot no 444/1439 at Bhaliabadi near old police station, Khurda.
2) Another building at Rajsunakhala Sahi, Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh district.
3) A flat at Shree Enclave, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
4) 3 plots in Khurda and Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh
5) Rs 6 lakh in cash
6) 300-gram gold jewellery and 500-gram silver ornaments
7) A four-wheeler and four two-wheelers
Measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/flat/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, postal, insurance and other deposits are also under verification.
Raids are currently on at these following places:
1) Flat No. 6, 2nd floor, Shree Enclave, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
2) Single-storey building over plot no 444/1439 at Bhaliabadi near old police station, Khurda.
3) Triple-storey building at Rajsunakhala Sahi, Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh district.
4) Single-storey building at Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh district.
5) Paternal house at Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh district.
6) House of his relative at Pichukuli, Khurda district
7) Official residence at Athagarh.
8) Office chamber on Block premises at Athagarh.
