Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education department on Tuesday issued an order to transfer Borrigumma block education officer Krushna Chandra Nayak to Kundra.
It, however, turned out to be a major gaffe as the officer concerned had died of COVID-19 at Visakhapatnam on August 20.
Nayak was posted at Borrigumma for last eight years and held additional charge of Lamtaput.
A fortnight after his death, Koraput block education officer Srikant Jani was given the charge of Borrigumma.
Admitting to the blunder, Koraput district education officer Ram Chandra Nayak said that he had reported the matter to his higher-ups and the transfer order has been cancelled.
