Balangir: A joint enforcement team on Thursday arrested Tirthankar Patel, owner of Sai International Mines & Minerals, on charges of evading Goods and Services Tax (GST) amounting to Rs 12.84 crore.
He was produced before the court of SDJM, Titlagarh, and sent to judicial custody after the court rejected his bail plea.
According to officials, Patel had been evading tax since July 2017 through fake bills for items which he never purchased or sold, official sources said.
