Odisha: BJB Lecturer’s Body Recovered From Mahanadi In Cuttack

Cuttack: The body of Debasish Das, a chemistry lecturer of BJB Autonomous College, was recovered from Mahanadi river at Sirlo Brahmankhand near Kishan Nagar in Cuttack on Monday.

According to sources, the lecturer’s family members have identified the body.

According to police, Das asked his driver to stop the car on Jagatpur bridge while going to Tangi from Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning. He then walked out of the vehicle and jumped into Mahanadi.

Though the reason for Das taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, sources said he had a suicidal tendency and attempted suicide several times in the past over some family dispute.
