Bhubaneswar: Senior leader and former Odisha Minister Snehangini Chhuria was on Thursday appointed as the president of Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), the women’s wing of BJD.
BJD president Naveen Patnaik has appointed Chhuria as the president of BMJD with immediate effect, the regional party said in a statement.
The BJD president also appointed senior general secretaries and general secretaries (women affairs) of the party.
Sumitra Jena, Rajashree Mallick, and Lekhasri Samantsinghar have been appointed as senior general secretaries (Women Affairs).
Those appointed as general secretaries (Women Affairs) are Sulochana Das, Sulata Deo, Barsha Singh Bariha, Sarmistha Sethi, Shreemayee Mishra, Lopamudra Buxipatra, Minati Behera, Kasturi Mohapatra, Padmini Dian, Dipali Das, Ranjita Sahu, and Gitanjali Bastia.
The BJD has also announced district-level appointments. Nrusingha Charan Sahu has been appointed as district president of Dhenkanal, with Sandip Sarangi as Working President.
Jhina Hikaka has been appointed as District President of Koraput, with Durga Mishra and Prasad Bidika as Working Presidents. Jagannath Saraka has been appointed as District President of Rayagada, with Gayadhar Pualo and Ranjit Panigrahi as Working Presidents.
