Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday revoked the expulsion order of former Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida.
“The expulsion order of Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, ex-MLA, Remuna of Balasore district, is hereby withdrawn. This will come into force with immediate effect,” read the office order issued by BJD president Naveen Patnaik.
Parida was expelled from the region party in September 2023 for anti-people activities after being accused of misappropriating Rs 3 crore meant to subsidise farm equipment purchase by scheduled castes and scheduled tribes beneficiaries during 2017-18 and 2019-20. He was then the managing partner of Nigamananda Associates, Balasore. “This matter is being inquired into by the State Vigilance on the orders of the Lokayukta,” the expulsion order had said.
