Bhubaneswar: Even as BJD president Naveen Patnaik called upon the party leaders and workers to remain united on the occasion of the party’s foundation day on Thursday, the event witnessed a woman leader slapping another leader.
The incident took place when BJD spokesperson Ipsita Sahu was looking after sitting arrangements for the foundation day function at the party headquarters, Sankha Bhawan.
Ipsita directed the workers to put some chairs for senior leaders in front of some women leaders who were already sitting there. Agitated over Ipsita’s action, one of the woman leaders of the party slapped her.
However, other leaders and workers intervened to pacify both the women leaders and prevent further escalation of the issue.
But neither Ipsita nor the person who slapped her has issued their reactions to the media on the incident. The party is also yet to comment on the matter
