New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supported the motion of thanks to the address by President Droupadi Murmu in Parliament.
Speaking on the motion in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, BJD MP Sasmit Patra said that on behalf of the regional party and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, he supports the motion.
Patra also thanked the president for quoting Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das in her speech
The BJD MP, however, suggested that more must be done for states such as Odisha.
Stating that the President spoke about highways, he said certain projects in Odisha need to be completed and seven lakh houses of PMAY are required for the state.
The BJD MP also sought steps for farmer’s welfare as well as withdrawal of GST on tendu leaves.
