Bhubaneswar: The Odisha BJP on Thursday announced appointment of state prabharis (in-charge) of different morchas (wings) of the party.
State vice-presidents Biranchi Narayan Tripathy, Purna Chandra Mohapatra, a renowned gynaecologist based out of Cuttack, Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, who is also a MLA from Brahmagiri, and Golak Prasad Mohapatra as prabharis of its youth (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha), women (Mahila Morcha), OBC and farmers (Krushak Morcha) wings, respectively.
Similarly, party secretary Ramesh Sahu has been made in-charge of SC wing and vice-president Sukeshi Oram of ST wing.
These appointments have been approved by BJP state president Manmohan Samal, a press release said.
Purna Chandra Mohapatra was appointed vice-president in August last year. He had retired as Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, in 2018. He was parachuted to the top of the Odisha BJP organisational hierarchy even before taking the primary membership of the party.
