Berhampur: With the Centre announcing to open 100 Sainik schools in the country, the BJP has demanded to set up a school in Berhampur.
In a memorandum to the Defence Minister, member of Ganjam district unit of BJP Pradip Mishra said opening a Sainik school at Berhampur would provide opportunity to students of 10 southern Odisha districts to study in the school. Besides, its students would get the scope to take admission in the Army Air Defence College at Golabandha near Berhampur, he added.
Mishra handed over the memorandum to Bhubaneswar MP and national spokesperson of BJP Aparajita Sarangi during her one-day tour to Ganjam on Sunday.
