Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has drawn up its campaign strategy for the panchayat elections in the state.
With the State Election Commission (SEC) putting a curb on public meetings, the main opposition party in the state has decided to focus on door-to-door contacts besides utilising the social media for digital campaign.
The BJP has prepared recorded songs, videos and posters highlighting the failures and corruption of the ruling BJD government. As per its strategy, these campaign materials will be released on virtual media to reach out to the voters.
“The campaign materials prepared by the media cell of the BJP will swing the voters in favour of the party in the panchayat elections. Those will serve as eye-opener about the misdeeds of the ruling BJD,” said state president of BJP Sameer Mohanty in a release.
The party has also drawn up a list of star campaigners who will accompany its supported candidates for door-to-door campaign across the state. Senior Central leaders including Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Giriraj Singh and Narendra Singh Tomar will campaign on social media platforms.
The state leaders have already started addressing the people on social media platforms like twitter and facebook. The star campaigners will join the campaign soon, the release stated.
The three-tier panchayat elections are scheduled to be held in five phases on February 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24.
