Sambalpur: In further trouble for BJP leadership in the state, the police have registered a case against the party’s Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra for allegedly misbehaving with a government officer.
As per the complaint filed by Sambalpur Sadar tehsildar with the police, while the demolition of encroachment in Durgapalli slums under Khetrajpur police limits was going on, the MLA arrived at the spot.
The legislator not only opposed the official demolition work but also misbehaved with the tehsildar and abused him in foul language, the officer stated in the complaint.
Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation, sources said.
It may be noted that police cases were recently filed against BJP MP Jual Oram and Union Minister Bisheswar Tudu. While Oram faces the allegation of misbehaving a woman activist of the party, Tudu has been accused of assaulting two government officers.
