Jeypore: Senior BJP leader Jayaram Pangi has tested positive for COVID-19.
Pangi informed this on Saturday. He said he was suffering from an illness for some days and had gone for a COVID-19 test recently. The swab test report came positive on Friday.
The BJP leader stated that he is in home isolation and requested those who came in contact with him recently to undergo COVID-19 test.
With Pangi, 11 leaders of Odisha including BJP leader and Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, and nine BJD leaders — Anant Narayan Jena, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) Chairperson and BJD General Secretary Srimayee Mishra, Odisha Small Industries Corporation Chairperson Chinmoy Kumar Sahoo, Rural Development, Labour and Employees’ State Insurance Minister Susanta Singh, Khandapada MLA and Editor of ‘Sambad’ Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Polasara MLA Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar Parida and Salepur MLA Prasant Behera — have tested positive for the virus.
