Bhubaneswar: The BJD and BJP continued to engage in mud-slinging over the murder of minister Naba Kishore Das with the ruling party in Odisha claiming that BJP’s general secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar was interested in getting BJD ticket in coming elections.
Soon after Lekhashree on Sunday alleged that a new script is being written to conceal the real reason behind killing of Das, BJD panelist Ipsita Sahoo told the media that the former had come to Naveen Niwas openly in 2014 and sought BJD ticket in the elections.
“In 2019, she came secretly to Naveen Niwas and requested for a BJD party ticket. We know she will again come in 2024 secretly, asking for a BJD ticket,” said Ipsita.
Stating that Lekhashree was a self-proclaimed Investigating Officer and Forensic expert whom some people in her party deploy to talk on investigation of cases, the BJD leader said, “She speaks without understanding the issue. Therefore, she has become a joker in the eyes of people.”
“As a woman, couldn’t she see that her senior party leader and Leader of Opposition Jaynarayan Mishra had beaten up an on-duty lady police officer? She is silent about this as she fears that she might also be beaten up with chappals by Mishra just like he had done to Odisha BJP state president Samir Mohanty,” Ipsita said.
“We urge her to take up some police investigation and forensic courses before presenting such cooked up stories before media and allow the police investigation and the judiciary to do its job,” she added.
