Berhampur: Senior BJP leader Nanda Kishore Sahu breathed his last at his rented house at Gandhi Nagar in Berhampur on Monday morning. He was 78.
Accoridng to sources, he went to sleep at 1 am after attending the wedding of his granddaughter last night and was found dead the following morning.
Nanda Kishore was the Chairman of Odisha Pisciculture Development Corporation (OPDC) from 2005-09. He was also the former President of BJP and Bharatiya Jan Sangh Ganjam unit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to him over phone during ‘Maan Ki Baat’ when COVID pandemic was at its peak in 2020.
“He had close contact with Din Dayal Upadhya and Atal Bihari Vajpai and contributed a lot for the organisational set up of the BJP in Ganjam. We always consider him as the ‘Bhisma Pitamaha’ in Ganjam politics,” said BJP Ganjam unit president Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.
