Bhubaneswar: The BJP’s legislature party will hold a meeting to announce the name of new chief minister of Odisha on Saturday.
Speaking to the media persons in Bhubaneswar on Friday, BJP’s newly elected MLA Rabinarayan Nayak said the meeting of all elected legislators of the party has been convened in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. As per democratic practice, the legislature party will decided its leader who will head the government.
“As announced by our state president Manmohan Samal earlier, BJP’s parliamentary board will take a decision on the chief minister. As a disciplined party, the BJP’s legislature party will approve the name decided by the Central leaders at its meeting on Saturday,” Nayak said.
Meanwhile, the newly elected MPs from the state left for New Delhi on Friday for a meeting with the party’s Central leaders. The parliamentary board of BJP will meet after the Central leaders hold discussion with party MPs from the state.
According to reliable sources, the saffron party’s parliamentary board is likely to meet on Friday night to decide the new chief minister of Odisha. However, the name will not be made public until the state legislature party approves it, the sources said.
