Bhubaneswar: A day after Chief Minster Naveen Patnaik clarified ‘mystery woman’ questions, BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra on Wednesday demanded a detailed probe into his ‘physiotherapist’ Shradha’s visit to Vatican City.
“The CM had visited Japan and also UAE, but she did not accompany him to those places. So, what was purpose behind her inclusion in the tour to the Vatican City? What did the Pope gift her?” the senior BJP leader questioned at a presser here.
He further asked whether Odisha health directorate had approved her engagement as his ‘physiotherapist’. “The CM’s statement that his sister had send her to take care of his physical fitness does not suffice since he is the head of the state and his security is paramount. Has the concerned authorities issued security clearance to her? We also need to the know where she was working earlier. There is a need for a detailed probe into these issues,” he added.

Notably, Naveen had gone to Rome and Dubai in June last year to share transformative initiatives of Odisha in the field of food security and disaster management at World Food Programme (WFP) in Rome. He had also met Pope Francis in the Vatican during the trip.
Jayaranyan also termed the CM’s statement in the house, calling the Opposition ‘anti-people’, as undemocratic. “The legislators were elected to the Assembly by the people of the state and it would not have been possible had they been anti-people. By making such a statement, he has exposed himself as anti-people,” he added.
