Bhubaneswar: The BJP would launch a state-wide agitation on Friday by gheraoing SP offices in Odisha, demanding the arrest of Tilebani BDO Krushnachandra Dalapati, party general secretary Golak Mohapatra informed on Thursday.
The saffron party has been crying hoarse over the arrest of 3-time BJP MLA from Deogarh Subash Panigrahi on charges of assaulting the BDO on May 1.
Denying the allegation, Panigrahi told mediapersons that an argument had taken place with the BDO at Chheplipali village. “The BDO misbehaved with me and even threatened to kill me…,” the MLA alleged.
The party also claimed that Panigrahi had first lodged a complaint against the BDO and he was arrested without proper investigation.
Notably, the MLA was shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, from Deogarh DHH on Wednesday after his health condition deteriorated.
