Odisha Boosting Milk Production Through On-Call Artificial Insemination; Here’s How To Avail This Service

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is sparing no effort to enhance milk production in the state through the on-call Artificial Insemination (AI) service.

Currently available in 10 districts, the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department is planning to introduce the service in the other districts.

Dairy farmers and cow-keepers can avail of this service sitting in their homes, by calling the toll-free number ‘155333’ to book an Artificial Insemination for their dairy animals.

Once a farmer calls this number, his name is registered for the service. Artificial Insemination workers of the locality are instructed to visit the address and the work is completed using an OTP-based verification system.

Odisha is India’s first state to provide this type of service.

The state’s dairy farmers get timely assistance for animal breeding-related services with on-spot artificial insemination for their cows and buffaloes.

On-call AI services also work towards efficient tracking and monitoring of breeding related issues of dairy animals.

Ten Artificial Insemination workers of Odisha were rewarded for best On-Call AI service during the recent state-level Fisheries and ARD fair Matsya-Pranee Samavesh Odisha (MPSO)-2025.

They represent Balasore, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Puri, where on-call artificial insemination service is currently available.
