Odisha-Born Siba Prasad Mohanty Appointed CMD, BVFCL

New Delhi: Siba Prasad Mohanty has been appointed as a Chairman & Managing (CMD) of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL).

According to the Personnel Ministry Saturday order, he has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after October 1, 2021, till the date of his superannuation, May 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

According to sources, he is likely to assume charge on October 1.

Born in Odisha’s Puri, he is currently serving as CMD of Hindustan Insecticides Limited (HIL). Under his chairmanship, HIL was awarded by Bureaucracy Today (CSR Excellence Award), Times Ascent (Innovative HR practices) and The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Mohanty has more than 26 years of experience in the marketing of agri inputs. He had worked in M/s Rashtriya Chemical & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF), Mumbai, in different capacities from 1989 to 2015. He was conferred with the ‘Marketing Man of the Year’ award in 1995 and the ‘Best Employee’ award in 2012 at RCF.

He did his Masters in Business Management from Berhampur University, Odisha. He completed his Executive Development Programme from IIM-Lucknow and Advanced Management Programme from IIM-Kolkata.
