Odisha Boy Arman Soreng In India Squad For U-18 Asia Cup Hockey Meet In Japan

Arman Soreng in India U-18 squad



Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Arman Soreng has made the cut for the upcoming Asia Cup U-18 hockey tournament to be held in Japan’s Kakamigahara.

The talented Arman is one of six defenders named in the 18-member squad to be led by Ketan Kushwaha who will spearhead the forward line.

The squad was selected after a rigorous national coaching camp held at SAI Bhopal under the supervisio

n of coach Sardar Singh and the team’s other coaching staff.

India will open their Pool A campaign against Kazakhstan on May29.

India’s other group stage matches are against Kazakhstan (May 29), hosts Japan (May 31), South Korea (June 1) and Chinese Taipei (June 3).

The men’s and women’s meets will be held simultaneously from May 29 to June 6.

Goalkeepers: Sawan Kumar, Ayush Rajak. Defenders: Ansh Bahutra, Arman Soreng, Ashish Tani Purti, Arshdip Singh, Avi Manikpuri, Romit Pal. Midfielders: Rahul Yadav, Premchand Soy, Varinder Singh, Karan Gautam, Siddharth Ben. Forwards: Ketan Kushwaha (captain), Akash Deep, Gazee Khan, Shahrukh Ali, Prahalad Rajbhar.
