Bhubaneswar: Odia boy Nitya Majhi has been selected for the Commonwealth Judo Championship 2019, which will be held in Birmingham, UK from September 22 to 30.
Nitya has been selected in the 46 kg Pre-Cadet Boys category.
He belongs to Murudimaha village in Tumudibandha Block of Kandhamal district.
He is a Class-X student of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS).
He has been selected to the Indian team by defeating judokas from Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi.
Nitya was trained by Judo coach Kandan Murmu since 2013.
