Odisha Budget Announces Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana For Poor Devotees; Check Other New Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: The annual budget presented by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Assembly on Monday announced several new schemes.

The budget for 2025-26 shows that at least 16 new initiatives have been proposed to be launched by the state government.

While presenting the budget, the Chief Minister announced that the state government will launch a new scheme Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana to fulfil the wishes of poor devotees.

Noting that Lord Jagannath is the soul of the culture of the state, he said every Odia desires to have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath in his lifetime.

“In order to fulfil the wishes of the very poor devotees, the state government will launch a new scheme Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana whereby they will travel to Puri, have darshan of Shree Jagannath and Mahaprasad free of cost,” said Majhi.

He further stated that an amount of Rs 30 crore has been allocated for the purpose in the state budget.

Apart from this, the Odisha government has approved Integrated Development of Maa Tarini Temple complex in Keonjhar with an estimate of Rs 225 crore. The state government is also committed to the development of Mahima Gadi at Joranda and construction of a Bhabya Sunya Mandap there, said CM.

The government has allocated Rs 820 crore for tourism with focus on infrastructure development, community empowerment and sustainable tourism practices.

9. Saheed Laxman Nayak Adarsh Vidyalaya: 100 Cr
10. Odia Diaspora: 0-SAMPARK:10 Cr
11. Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana: 12 Cr
12. Southern Odisha Development Council: 200 Cr
13. Swachha Odisha: 261 Cr
14. Aame Padhiba Aama Bhasare: Rs 25 Cr
15. Atal Bus Stand: 1266 Cr
16. Samrudha Sahara: Rs 400 Cr
