Odisha Builder, Who Cheated Son’s Tutor Of Rs 23 Lakh, Arrested From UP

Bhubaneswar: A builder who allegedly took Rs 23 lakh from his son’s tutor by promising her land in the state capital has been arrested from Uttar Pradesh.

The accused, identified as Parsuram Kandi, lives in Ninth Empire Apartment at BJB Nagar here. He was arrested from Mohammad Nagar area of UP by a special team of Badagada police.

Police said the complainant, Madhusmita Mishra, was used to teach Kandi’s son. Madhusmita gave Kandi Rs 23 lakh for purchasing land in the city. But neither the accused gave her the land nor refunded her money. She lives in Brit Colony in Badagada.

Madhusmita lodged a complaint against him in July this year. Fearing arrest, Kandi had moved to UP. Police said there are many cases of fraud against him.

Police said Kandi is from Karanga village under Niali police station in Cuttack district.
