Bhubaneswar: A senior OAS officer died in a tragic road accident in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
According to sources, additional secretary, Industries, Basant Kumar Das was run over by a speeding truck while he was disposing of puja items on Kuakhai bridge.
Following the accident, locals caught hold of the truck driver and severely thrashed him. Mancheswar Police soon reached the spot and pacified them.
Police later handed over the body of the deceased to his family members at the official residence in Unit-IX.
