Berhampur: Eleven of the 12 people who died in the horrific bus collision in Odisha’s Ganjam district reportedly happened to be family members and relatives of former MP Renubala Pradhan.
The deadly accident took place in the wee hours of Monday near Digapahandi when a private bus carrying members of a marriage party collided head-on with an OSRTC bus.
At least 12 passengers of the private bus were killed and several others sustained injuries in the accident. As per reports, 11 of the 12 deceased were family members and relatives of the former Rajya Sabha member. They were returning after attending a marriage function in Berhampur.
Following the tragic mishap, a pal of gloom has descended on Digapahandi area. The family members and the relatives of the deceased are crestfallen after losing their near and dear ones.
Renubala reportedly said that 11 members of her family, including her brother-in-law, niece and son-in-law, lost their lives in the tragic accident. The deceased included six men, four women and two children.
