Odisha Bypoll: BJD’s Lead Over BJP Narrows In Balasore Sadar After 7th Round Of Counting

Balasore: Manas Kumar Dutta, who entered the election fray following the death of his father and former Balasore Sadar MLA Madan Mohan Dutta, was able to narrow down the lead gained by BJD to 2419 after the 7th round of counting.

Swarup Das of the ruling party was leading by 3161 votes in Balasore Sadar at the end of the 5th round of counting. Manas managed to gain a thin margin in the next two rounds, sources said.

While Das has garnered 25112 votes, Manas has 22693 in his kitty. Congress’ Mamata Kunda is at a distant third with 2011 votes.
