Padampur: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will campaign in Odisha’s Padampur Assembly constituency for BJP candidate Pradip Purohit on November 27.
This was stated by BJP state general secretary Golak Mohapatra. The two Union Ministers are schedued to address election meetings at Padampur and Paikmal, he said.
Similarly, BJP national vice-president Baijyant Panda and spokesperson Sambit Patra will campaign in Padampur Assembly constituency in favour of Purohit on Saturday.
Panda and Patra would address public meetings at three places – Bilaspur, Kumeera and Jagadalpur in Jharband block under the constituency.
As campaigning for the bypoll gained momentum, many senior BJP leaders including party MPs Suresh Pujari, Sangeeta Singhdeo, Basant Panda and Jual Oram and state unit president Samir Mohanty addressed a series of election meeting in the constituency on Friday.
While the BJP has fielded Purohit, the BJD and the Congress have fielded Barsha Singh Bariha and Satya Bhushan Sahu, respectively.
The bypoll has been necessitated following the demise of sitting MLA Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha.
Voting is scheduled to be held on December 5 and counting on December 8.
