Odisha Bypolls: BJD Takes Clear Lead In Tirtol, Marginally Ahead Of BJP In Balasore Sadar

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has taken a sizeable lead in Tirtol at the end of the fifth round of counting, while it is marginally ahead of the BJP in the Balasore Sadar at the end of the fourth round of counting.

Swarup Das of the ruling party at the end of the fourth round counting in Balasore Sadar had received 14480 votes while Manas Dutta of BJP and Mamata Kundu of Congress had polled in 11809 and 1466 votes respectively.

In Tirtol, the BJD was ahead with 18397 votes while the BJP and the Congress are trailing with 11,997 and 2247 votes respectively at the end of the fifth-round counting.

While BJD is leading by 2671 in Balasore, it is ahead by 6400 votes in Tirtol.
