Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Sunday approved Budget of Rs 2 lakh crore for 2022-23 financial year. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik chaired the Cabinet meeting which gave its approval to the Budget. The Budget will be approved on May 31 following a discussion.
According to reports, the vote-on-account will be presented in the State Assembly by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari on March 30. The Budget will be approved on May 31 following a discussion.
Later, the regular Budget will be presented in the next session of the State Assembly nearly after three months.
The Odisha government opted for a vote-on-account instead of the regular Budget in view of the model code of conduct imposed due to elections to civic bodies in the state. The vote-on-account would be for the first four months of the financial year 2022-23.
