Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet on Thursday cleared a proposal for setting up of a high capacity automated dairy and milk processing plant at Arilo under Gobindpur Mouza near Barang in Bhubaneswar.
The construction of the proposed plant having five lakh-litre capacity per day, will be funded by the NABARD, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi told media persons after the meeting which was presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here.
He said the Cabinet cleared a total of 16 proposals.
The Chief Secretary said the State Cabinet decided to rename the Culture Department as Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department (Odia Bhasa, Sahitya O Sanskruti Bibhaga)
“A decision which was taken at the previous cabinet meeting at Puri in December last year on a proposal to bifurcate of the Tourism and Culture Department to which the Cabinet today approved the proposal. Henceforth, the Culture department would be renamed as the Department of Language, Literature and Culture (Odia Bhasa, Sahitya O Sanskruti Bibhaga),” he informed.
The Cabinet approved a proposal for sanctioning a loan of Rs 15 crore to revive and run the Aska Cooperative Sugar Industries Ltd.
The other proposals cleared by the Cabinet include laying of underground pipeline for supply of fluoride-free water to 965 villages in Nuapada district, tender for Lower Indra underground pipeline project for irrigation of 13,800 acres of land and allotment of government land near Chhatrapur in Ganjam district for setting up of a radar station.
The Cabinet decided to amend a section in the Odisha Municipal Rules pertaining to secret ballot during no-confidence motion. Under the new amendment, there will be a provision for open ballot during no confidence motion in the Municipal Council.
Besides, the Cabinet approved amendment in the Agro-Engineering Cadre Rules, Odisha Municipal rules, Odisha Recruitment Rules, restructuring of Auditor Service Cadre, Veterinary Service Cadre and Jail Service Cadre.
