New Delhi: Ghanshyam Upadhyay, a 1999 batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre, has been appointed Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Besides Upadhyay, two other IPS officers, Vidya Jayant Kulkarni and Nawal Bajaj, were also transferred to the CBI, according to an official notification.
The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension approved the postings of Upadhyay, Kulkarni (1998 batch, Tamil Nadu cadre) and Bajaj (1995 batch, Maharashtra cadre).
Kulkarni was posted in Tamil Nadu as IGP in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption bureau. Bajaj was an IGP in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Upadhyay was an IGP in the Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB).
