Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer of Odisha cadre, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), said a notification by the state Home Department on Thursday.
According to the notification, the 1990 batch IPS officer, who is currently posted as the Additional Director General (ADG) (Provisioning), will go on a central deputation and take charge of his new assignment. His tenure as the IG, BSF, will be five years from the date of joining.
He earlier served as Twin City Police Commissioner.
The state government has given the additional charge of ADG (Provisioning) to Vinaytosh Mishra who is now posted as ADG (Modernisation).
Besides, IG (Headquarters), Asit Kumar Panigrahi has also been given the additional charge of ADG (Communication) till the posting of a regular incumbent, the notification added.
