Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has cancelled COVID-19 vaccination from state-procured stock as per revised the guidelines issued by the Centre.
In a letter to the district collectors and Municipal Commissioners, the Additional Chief Secretary, Health, PK Mohapatra requested all to stop supply of vaccines to private hospitals and withdraw the stock, if any.
The private hospitals interested for providing vaccination to citizens can procure vaccines directly from the manufacturer under the revised guidelines, the notification added.
Earlier, the state had approved to set up government-sponsored vaccination centres in private hospitals as an extension of its CVC centres for 18-44 age group.
However, later the Centre had announced to supply all the vaccines for inoculation of people above the age of 18.
