Bhubaneswar: After two pandemic-hit years, the Odisha capital will again pulsate to Garba and Dandiya beats at spectacular Navaratri events from September 26.
City denizens, especially youngsters, throng Dandiya venues in colourful traditional attire and dandiya sticks and groove to peppy dance numbers. Here are a few places where you enjoy the euphoria associated with the festival in Bhubaneswathis year:
Hotel Pushpak in Bhubaneswar will organise the event from October 3 to 4. The event will start at 6 pm and will continue till 10 pm. The main attractions will be Garba dance troupe, a DJ, and attractive prizes.
The entry ticket for the function will be Rs 749 (stag) and Rs 1,449 per couple.
Hotel Vivanta’s Wink in Bhubaneswar will be organising a Dandiya night on October 1. The event will start at 6 pm.
The main attractions will be Dj Rahul Walia (Official Dj Of Ranveer Singh) and traditional Garba performances. The event will also feature MC Abhilasha Shukla and a performance by Navya Jaiti and the band.
Live multi-food stalls and beverage counters, and a special kid’s play area will also be set up.
The entry ticket for the function will be Rs 3,000 stag (Rs 1,500 redeemable), Rs 4,000 couple ( Rs 2000 redeemable), Rs 5,000 family (Rs 2500 redeemable)
Hotel Nilay Residency in Bhubaneswar’s Infocity square will hold the event from September 30 to October 4. Entry will be allowed from 7.30 pm to 10 pm.
There will be unlimited snacks, soft drinks, Garba dance, troupe, DJ & music, and lucky draws.
‘Prayas’ is organising Dandiya nights at Unit 3 Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar from October 1 to 5.
This is Prayas’s ninth edition of the Dandiya festival. The entry fee will be around Rs 150 per person. Prizes will be given to the best dancer, best couple, best costume and best child dancer.
The team of Response Marketing Services Pvt Ltd is organising Dandiya nights at Shailaja Mandap on Puri bypass road near Pandra square.
The event is being from September 29 to October 4. Entry will be allowed from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
Special attractions – live music show, performances by celebrity singers, DJ and traditional dandiya beats, lucky draw, surprise gifts, exhibition stalls, and food courts.
A 10-day ‘Dandiya Raas-2022’ will begin at Mayfair Lagoon Hotel from September 26. The event, which is being organised by Mayfair Hotel and Enter Ten Event & Promotions, will be held from 7.30 pm to 10 pm every day with Binti Singh of Voice of India fame, India Idol contestant Riya Bhattacharya, playback singers Torsa Sarkar and Keka Ghoshal adding much zeal to the musical nights. There will also be DJ, dance groups, and a live band.
There will be some awards, including ‘Best Couple’, for the Dandiya dance programme.
Children can also have fun with a special entertainment programme being organised for them. There will drawing, music, dance, and speech competition for the children from 4 pm to 7 pm during these 10 days, while mothers can show their skills in a rangoli contest.
The winner will be awarded on the last day of the programme.
Various types of delicious chats and Navratri dishes have also been arranged. All those who come for the Dandiya night can enjoy these delicacies from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm.
