Odisha CB Arrests 2 Nigerian Cyber Criminals From New Delhi

Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, Odisha Crime Branch on Sunday arrested two Nigerian cyber criminals from New Delhi.

The duo was nabbed in connection with online fraud in Odisha and Maharashtra.

Acting on specific information about the fraudsters’ presence in the national capital, a team of Crime Branch Cyber Cell carried out simultaneous raids and managed to nab them.

According to Crime Branch sources, the cyber criminals used to pose themselves as lottery officials and withdraw money online after obtaining bank details of people in Odisha and Maharashtra by promising riches and prizes.

The criminals have committed online fraud to the tune of Rs 10.50 lakh in Odisha. Both of them were most wanted by Odisha and Maharashtra police since long, the sources added.

They are being interrogated to extract more information regarding involvement of more people in the racket.
