Odisha CB Arrests Two More Associates Of Gangster Tito

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested two more associates of gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito.

The arrested have been identified as Dipti Ranjan Dash alias Lulu of Jagatsinghpur and Chitaranjan Sahoo alias Habula, a resident of Tangi in Cuttack district.

They were arrested under Sections 387, 506, 120-B and 34 of the IPC and 25 and 27 under Arms Act.

The duo was later produced before the Kujang JMFC Court.

The STF officials had on Monday conducted simultaneous raids on Lulu’s houses in Jagatsinghpur and Bhubaneswar and seized a pistol, 12 rounds of live ammunition, two cars, cash to the tune of Rs 64, 250 and documents including bank passbooks.

Last Wednesday, a motorcycle showroom in Kendrapara district was raided to investigate the alleged criminal and financial links of Tito.

The raid in Pattamundai area of the district was conducted to ascertain whether the gangster had invested money in the showroom.

The showroom was earlier seized by CB officials along with a furniture showroom, belonging to Tito’s relatives at Marsaghai.

On August 24, a team of STF had interrogated two engineers for their alleged links with Tito.

According to sources, Rural Development Department executive engineer Nalinikant Senapati and Lift Irrigation Department executive engineer Bidyabhusan Nayak were questioned at Kendrapara SDPO’s office for financial links with the gangster.

The STF had on August 23 unearthed Tito’s involvement in illegal cattle transportation by arresting one of his associates.

The accused, identified as Batu Pani, operating the gangster’s cattle transportation network in Odisha and outside, was nabbed by a team of STF from Kalinga Vihar.

A pistol and four vehicles, including an expensive motorcycle, were seized from his possession.

On August 18, the STF of Odisha Crime Branch had arrested an associate of gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito from Krishnanandapur village under Tirtol police limits in Jagatsinghpur district.

The accused has been identified as Shaikh Shakir Ali. He is being interrogated to ascertain his links with criminal activities of the gangster.

The STF had on July 30 arrested two other more associates of Tito identified as Alok Mallick and Deepak Swain.

Both were picked up by a team of the STF from Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district.
