Jharsuguda/Bhubaneswar: After getting 4-day remand of accused Gopal Das in Odisha Health Minister Naba Das murder case, Crime Branch plans to seek the help of experts from New Delhi to conduct his Forensic Psychological Assessment and Layered Voice Analysis.
Steps are being taken to conduct the test of the accused by experts of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi, an official release said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the postmortem report suggests that the death of the Minister was caused due to cardiogenic shock as a result of fire arm injuries and is homicidal in nature, it said.
Sustained interrogation of the dismissed police official, who was brought in police remand for 4 days, is being carried out by CID CB team.
This apart, inspection of the vehicle and the crime spot near Gandhi Chowk at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district is continuing with the assistance of scientific officer and ballistic experts using FARO 3-D Scanner, they said.
One team led by a DSP is examining the witnesses, including the supporters of the departed leader, who were present at the spot on January 29 when the Minister was shot allegedly by Gopal Das from very close range.
Another team headed by another DSP and staff is verifying the medical treatment aspect and financial behavior of the accused. Examination of the neighbor and villagers is continuing by the team at the native village of accused near Berhampur Ganjam district.
Further, collection, collation and analysis of evidence collected so far is being done by a CID-CB team.
Additional DG of Police, CID-Crime Odisha, Arun Bothra is camping in Jharsuguda and personally monitoring and supervising the investigation of the case.
The CB, however, is yet to ascertain conclusively the exact motive behind the incident.
The investigation of the case is continuing.
