Odisha CDPO Caught Taking Rs 1 Lakh Bribe

Union ministry officials arrested in bribery case

Bhawanipatna: The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Thuamul Rampur in Odisha’s Kalahandi district was caught by vigilance sleuths on Monday while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.


The CDPO, Pushpanjali Rath, had allegedly demanded the bribe money from a person for appointing his spouse as an anganwadi worker, an Odisha Vigilance press release said.

She was caught after the vigilance laid a trap. Simultaneous searches are being conducted at Rath’s properties in Balangir and Kalahandi districts, the release added.
