Odisha CDPO Found With Assets Worth Crores After Being Trapped For Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday claimed to have detected properties worth crores of rupees during raids on Sakuntala Das, the child development project officer (CDPO) in Dasmantpur block.

This came a day after Das along with Minati Khosla of Adhamunda anganwadi centre, were allegedly caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a newly-appointed anganwadi helper.

The assets unearthed so far include,

1) A triple-storey building over 3300 sqft area at Kaibalya Nagar, Dumduma, Bhubaneswar.

2) A double-storey building over 2200 sqft area at Similiguida, Koraput.

3) An under-construction building over plinth area over 2000 sqft at Bharatipur, Puri.

4) A home stead plot of 0.05 dcml at Similiguida, Koraput.

5) Rs.47,000 in cash found at her rented residential house at Dashamantpur, Koraput.

6) Fixed deposits worth Rs 22.10 lakh.

7) A four-wheeler (Mahindra XUV 500).

Deposits and transactions in nine bank accounts of Das and her spouse are under verification, a Vigilance release said.
