Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunj Bihari Dhal on Friday held a review meeting on district-level preparations for dual elections in the state.
The Additional District Magistrates (ADMs) spoke on various aspects of election preparations in their districts in the meeting. Besides the arrangements made for the elections, different problems faced by them were also discussed.
Dhal directed the ADMs to take all possible steps to ensure transparency during the elections. Stating that the voters were most important part of the election process, he said, “They are the first stakeholders. All preparations should be made keeping them in mind.
Stressing on role of human resources, the CEO said their training on the technology should be accorded top priority. The toll-free number 1950 should be operational at all times, he directed.
Dhal also told the ADMs to remain alert while the process of printing the postal ballots is on.
