Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Thursday approved the government’s proposal for a massive awareness campaign for financial literacy, financial inclusion, cashless transaction and implementation of direct benefit transfer (DBT) in every possible sphere.
The responsibility for the campaign has been entrusted to the officers of the Small Savings cadre and their job charts have been revised accordingly. The change of nomenclature was felt necessary in view of the additional responsibilities.
As per the revised job charts, the present officers of the Small Savings cadre will be known as Small Savings & Financial Inclusion officers. Besides their present responsibilities, their services will also be utilized for the aforesaid purposes with emphasis on financial inclusion.
