Bhubaneswar: The DGPs of Odisha and Chhattisgarh on Tuesday decided to further strengthen the cooperation between the two states to intensify operation against LWE menace and drugs smuggling.
At a cooperation meeting between top police officers from the two states, the DGPs decided that ADGP (Operation), Chhatisgarh and IG (Operation), Odisha would be the nodal officers on the matters to deal with Left wing extremists (LWE).
Similarly, DIGP STF, Odisha and DIGP CID-CB, Chhatisgarh dealing with matters under Narcotics Drugs Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 will be nodal officers on the issues related to drugs smuggling. Other modalities for joint operations and further cooperation were also finalised and it was decided to meet again.
Chhattisgarh DGP along with ADGP (Operation), IGP (Intelligence) and IGs of Ranges and also SPs of Sukma, Bastar, Gariabandh, Dhamtari and Mahasamund attended the meeting.
From Odisha, Director Intelligence, ADGP CIC-CB, IGP (Operation), DIGP STF, DIGP SIW, SPs of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts besides DGP participated in the meeting.
