Bhubaneswar: The grievance cell of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will remain closed on August 19 and 26.
The public grievance hearing on the two days will not be held due to government holidays, the department of General Administration and Public Grievance said on Friday.
The new dates for the public grievance hearing will be announced soon through newspapers and public notice, the department said.
Sources said the government has decided to cancel the public hearing on these days considering the significance of Rakhi Purnima on August 19 and Janmashtami on August 26.
Rakhi Purnima, a festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, and Janmashtami, marking the birth Lord Krishna, are among the major festivals in Odisha.
Notably, the Chief Minister’s public grievance hearing began on July 1 and is being conducted every Monday.
However, the grievance cell remained closed for two weeks last month for the CM’s visit to the New Delhi and the state assembly session.
