Odisha Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell To Remain Closed On July 8

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a notification that the grievance cell of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will remain closed on July 8.

The General Administration and Public Grievance department, in a notification on Thursday, said the state government has announced July 8 (Monday) as a holiday for Rath Yatra. As a result, the grievance cell of the Chief Minister will remain closed on the day.

The government on Wednesday declared July 8 a holiday for banks, banking institutions, its offices and Revenue and Magisterial Courts (Executive) on account of Rath Yatra.

The Chief Minister had on Tuesday announced July 8 as a holiday. Since chariot pulling will start in the evening of the Rath Yatra day on of July 7 and resume next day, the government offices will remain closed on Monday also.

It may be noted that the chariot pulling has been delayed this year as two other festivals, Nabajouban Darshan and Netra Utsav, besides Rath Yatra will be celebrated on the same day.
